Wow, we had a good service this morning. We had a guest speaker, Dr. Richard Klein, from College of Biblical Studies in Houston. Susan , you would like him. He has a Bachelor’s Degree from Pillsbury Bible College!

He spoke on unity in the church, and there was a lot of “amening”. Then when he got to the part about getting off the couch and working at the church, a whole lot of that amening stopped.

He and his wife were in our Sunday School class, which Steve teaches, and they both said they learned things today that they did not know. Our study was on Creation Science vs. Evolution. Very interesting stuff.

Then after church, he was telling me about a young man, around 28 years old, that he wanted to fix Bethany up with    Fern had brought roses this morning for church and she gave Beth 2 of them. I told Fern that Beth really wanted to be getting them from a guy. That’s when Dr. Klein asked me how old she is and told me about the young man.

I’ve told Beth she can’t get married for at least a year, though, because I want to rest between weddings.

Ok, I swiped this from Brandon, because I thought some of you ladies might like it. And I thought some guys ought to read it:

Women are like apples on trees. The best ones are at the top of the tree. Most men don’t want to reach for the good ones because they are afraid of falling and getting hurt. Instead, they sometimes take the apples from the ground that aren’t as good, but easy. The apples at the top think something is wrong with them, when in reality, they’re amazing. They just have to wait for the right man to come along, the one who is brave enough to climb all the way to the top of the tree. Share this with women who are good apples, even those who have already been picked!

  1. Thanks for your comments on my posts. Also thanks for encouraging me to share the praise . . . I didn’t want to name the gal, but I did want to share it. You’re right (& your pastor) — we need to encourage each other with our answers to prayer!  Sounds like you’ve had a good Lord’s Day already! This morning, our worship pastor, Tim – an accomplished pianist –  played as a tribute to Anthony Burger, a song that A.B. had arranged (Larnelle Harris & Sandy Patti sing it as a duo). He had the lyrics of the song up on the overhead screen, and also a picture of A.B. at the piano. Tim had a taped version of backup singers & other instruments – minus the piano part. The song: “I’ve Just Seen Jesus!” WOW! Check out the lyrics! They truly blessed us all. I kept thinking – through my tears – this is what Anthony is experiencing – right now!! :sunny:  :heartbeat:

  2. Thanks, Carolyn. I don’t need to check out the lyrics – I know them by heart. That song is also done as a duet by Cindy and Bethany Hartman  ๐Ÿ˜†  We’ve done it for 4 years in our Easter play. That song really gets me excited.

  3. Hey, Cindy– Why I’ve heard of that famous duo — hmmm:giggle: Then you should know exactly how the lyrics affected me as I thought of A.B. standing before our Lord! :spinning: Awed, but teary throughout the song!:love:

  4. :)Cindy, that’s really a very good post following:

  5. Women are like apples on trees. When you pull them down and cut them open, they turn brown. ๐Ÿ˜ฎ ๐Ÿ˜† :sunny:No, seriously, I’m allergic to apples. ๐Ÿ˜ฅ Needless to say, this doesn’t make me very optimistic. :jealous: :spinning: :spinning: :spinning:

  6. Carolyn, in our Easter play, Brandon played Jesus, and just after he emerged from the tomb and walked up the aisle toward the back of the church, the lights would go out. Then they would slowly come back up on Beth and I, and we would sing “I’ve Just Seen Jesus” to each other. That song gives me goose bumps! I’m Sandy Patty and Beth is Larnelle Harris :giggle:

  7. I see the resemblance between you & Sandy . . . but Beth doesn’t quite look like L.H. — ๐Ÿ˜† I’ll bet you sound good together. Goose bumps is a good description.        Do you as a singer get g.b. when you are singing it?

  8. And actually, several years ago, people use to tell me I looked like Sandy. I’ve been told many times that I sound like her, but since I’ve been having trouble with my voice, that resemblance is kind of going away. I love to sing with Beth. I wish Brandon would sing, but he is just too shy to do it. But he has a beautiful voice.
