We decided this year to fix Mexican food for our Christmas Day family get-together. So my sister (who is married to a man of Mexican descent), sent this picture today, in honor of our “Spanish themed Christmas” this year.

Update 6:00 p.m…..I have been updating my slide shows. I have added pics to nearly all of them. For the wedding, Steve made a slide show of Brandon and Rachael, and I added all those pictures to my slide shows.

This is probably not going to be the best day. My rheumatoid arthritis has flared up again in my wrists and ankles. My right wrist is very painful and swollen. And I am right handed.
Bethany is going out to put in some job applications in a little while.
Only 10 days till Ethan comes home.
Today is my parents’ 51st wedding anniversary.

  1. Cindy,
I’m so sorry you are in pain. I’ve been praying for you, but today I will focus on where it really hurts. God bless you!!
    Cynthia :heartbeat:

  2. I hate to hear that your hands are hurting!!!  I hate it when the weather gets my knee to acting up!
I can’t wait for Ethan to get home!!!  Safe and sound!
    Have a great week!!

  3. My Mom has some R. Arthritis, and I hope I don’t ever develop it.  It does run in my family though.  So sorry for your pain.  Congrats to your parents being married 51 yrs.  That is my age!

  4. Hi, Cynthia….I will be 50 in March, so I’m not far behind you.
RA does run in families – it’s inherited. My mom has it, but also my dad’s aunt, so I get it from both sides. I also have osteoarthritis, which comes from both sides of the family. I’m doomed. :giggle:

  5. wow 51 years?! wow!! I want to make a slide show… been wanting to for a really long time. Maybe one of these days I’ll get around to it haha!

  6. I am so sorry to hear your r. arthritis is flaring love.  However, you have so many blessings in your life to be thankful for… yours is a life that is sooo blessed.  I feel very fortunate that you allow us here on xanga to be a part of that!!!

  7.  Borrow away, Annalissa. I can’t wait to see your answers.
Yes, I am very blessed. I actually have several diseases that can be debilitating, but God lets me still function. It’s just a testament to His glory, because they barely slow me down.

  8. Praying they have many more.
Thank you, Sue. I am, too. They are very blessed to have made it this far. Daddy’s parents made it to 50 years, and I’m glad they have made it longer. My grandfather died the next month after their 50th anniversary. He had a bad heart, and my dad’s is even worse. I just found out that Daddy’s pacemaker is kicking in all the time now. The last test they did, they slowed the pacemaker down to just 30 beats a minute, and Daddy’s heart never did beat on its own. The pacemaker is doing it all now. He just turned 70 in September.

  9. :heartbeat:Just sitting here with my cup of Java looking at your wondeful slideshows … You have a beautiful family!
I will be praying for you today that you feel better … this weather doesn’t help much either …
I will come by before Christmas, it’s gonna be a busy next couple of days!
    Love, Connie

  10. That “Steve” of yours is just always lurking, just waiting for me to say something stupid so he can pounce, LOL…………..Remember the time I couldn’t figure out what the difference in gas prices just two cities away from here was,  I said something like it is 2.19 here and 2.04 there.  He came back with the difference is 15 cents!
Welp, he got me again when I said something about misspelling a word,  I said is that how you spell that.    You guessed it,  he responded  “YES,   T-H-A-T!      Go whomp him up side the head for me, would ya?

  11.
I viewed the November 18th. wedding photos plenty of  “ooooohs and awwwhhhhhs” on my part.  Everything is so beautifully done (elbow elbow all that hard work paid off) and inviting.  The bride and groom make a very beautiful couple!!!  So moving… *getting choked up and sentimental* I love it!!!

  13. Cindy,
Are you feeling any better today?
It was cold last night and we’re in for another one tonight :p It’s noon here and it’s only 48* It’s wonderful. God is so good. God bless you.

  14. 😆 Sheepdogs….that’s good, Charles! 😆  Thank you. I hope you all have a great Christmas. It doesn’t seem like it’s already been more than a month since the wedding. I miss the kids – well….I see Rachael more than Brandon. Haven’t seen him in a week.
