7:15 p.m….It’s Scrabble Night at Brandon and Rachael’s again. Beth just left. They have more fun. In the last game, they decided to suspend the rules, and allow everybody to play slang words, proper names and other such improper stuff. It gets interesting. And sometimes the words are for mature audiences.
The weather here is ridiculous. Today was in the mid-70’s, but tomorrow we will get the front that’s been dumping all the snow up north. By Tuesday, it will be about 30 degrees. Wednesday’s low is predicted to be 28, with rain, which will, of course, freeze. Right now, we are running the AC. Tomorrow it will be the heater.
Tonight a couple of former neighbors came to church. People I never expected to see in church. Chris has lived 2 houses down from us since he was 11. He just turned 26 and moved a year or so ago. He is in the Air National Guard and has been to Iraq once. He told us several years back that he didn’t need God. That’s a dangerous thing to say. His friend BJ lived with them for a while. He is now married (has been for 6 years) and got saved several years ago. He wanted Chris to go to church, so they came to ours. Chris called this afternoon to see what time church started, but I didn’t really expect to see them. I was pleasantly surprised.
I just wanted to post a few scriptures that Herb used in his sermon this morning. They don’t really need any explanation.
Rom 3:23-24…..23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
Rom 6:23-7:1…..23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. NIV
Rom 10:9…..if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. NIV
Acts 4:12…..Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.” NIV
1 Tim 2:5…..For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, NIV
After church this morning, we went to eat at Casa Ole. We went down Memory Lane with Brandon a little bit. He can turn the prettiest shade of red But we had fun. I’m enjoying this phase of Brandon and Rachael’s lives – being married. It seems to us to have changed them a little. It has matured them more. d Beth flirted with the waiter. igh*
Bethany has 2 job interviews this week. Please pray. I want her to be where God wants her to be. The photographer who lives around the corner wrote her a letter of recommendation. He is also a sheriff’s department detective. Beth use to develop their pictures.
Bethany will probably go with Jesse this week to see his lawyer about this stupid CVS thing.
We got to sing happy birthday to Rachael in church this morning. We do that for all the birthdays in the upcoming week. She will be 25 on Friday.
I have to get busy printing more pictures. I am making Kathryn, a friend from church, a photo album of wedding pictures as an additional thank you for the work she did helping us with the wedding. I found a very inexpensive photo album on clearance last week at Hobby Lobby. I covered it with fabric from the bridesmaids’ dresses and am going to paint snowflakes on the front. I’m filling it with 100 wedding pictures. I was up till 2:00 this morning printing pictures, until the printer decided to revolt.
