Planning Bethany’s Future

It’s good to laugh.

You’ve got to read this post.

And I don’t know if you ever read the “featured posts”, but this one was funny.

Update 3:45….We got our errands done, and I’m putting away groceries. On Sunday, we are going to grill t-bone steaks over here.

Cathy and I are planning Beth’s future in this post.  (We’re on the 2nd page of comments already!) And Cathy, I forgot to answer your question: the song was “Untitled Hymn” by Chris Rice.

I will post more later this evening. I have to leave in a little while to go help Rachael with some errands.

Our pastor’s sermon yesterday was excellent. It was on character. But we prayed a lot yesterday for our church, and the people delivering the messages….both sermon and song. It seems there was a lot of attacking going on by Satan and his henchmen. Some of you will understand that and some won’t.

Beth getting upset yesterday morning, and feeling like she just just couldn’t get through the song, wasn’t the only thing that happened. Bro. Herb was leaving for the church yesterday morning, when he laid his Bible on top of his car. Well, he forgot it was there. When he got to the church (which isn’t very far) the Bible was still there, but all his sermon notes had blown away. He retraced his steps and found most of them, and much of it was committed to memory anyway. Then on top of that, there were many, many people absent from church yesterday morning.

Somebody sure didn’t want that sermon delivered yesterday, and they didn’t want the music sung. And they didn’t want people there to hear it.

But God did.

And everything turned out well. The music touched people even more than it would have, knowing the difficulty in delivering it. And the sermon was so good, I was getting excited taking notes. And people will hear it.

Satan tries so hard to set back God’s people. And so many times it backfires on him.

Untitled Hymn (Come to Jesus) by Chris Rice

Weak and wounded sinner
Lost and left to die
O, raise your head, for love is passing by
Come to Jesus
Come to Jesus
Come to Jesus and live

Now your burden’s lifted
And carried far away
And precious blood has washed away the stain, so
Sing to Jesus
Sing to Jesus
Sing to Jesus and live

And like a newborn baby
Don’t be afraid to crawl
And remember when you walk
Sometimes we fall…so
Fall on Jesus
Fall on Jesus
Fall on Jesus and live

Sometimes the way is lonely
And steep and filled with pain
So if your sky is dark and pours the rain, then
Cry to Jesus
Cry to Jesus
Cry to Jesus and live

O, and when the love spills over
And music fills the night
And when you can’t contain your joy inside, then
Dance for Jesus
Dance for Jesus
Dance for Jesus and live

And with your final heartbeat
Kiss the world goodbye
Then go in peace, and laugh on Glory’s side, and
Fly to Jesus
Fly to Jesus
Fly to Jesus and live
Fly to Jesus
Fly to Jesus
Fly to Jesus and live
