1:40 a.m…Yes, it’s really late (or really early, depending on how you look at it) and I should be in bed. But I was at B&R’s till 11:00 tonight, and I wanted to get some things done here. But I was just thinking and wanted to share.
I read a letter in Dear Abby once, where a woman wrote in to complain that she never got to have private time with her married son. She complained that her daughter-in-law always had to be there, too, and she wanted some time by herself with her son.
I’ve got news for that woman. Her son belongs to another woman now. She’s his mother, but his first priority is to his wife.
I cannot imagine asking Brandon to come visit without Rachael. She is the other half of him now, and we love her. We enjoy being with both of them, and we would miss her if she couldn’t be here.
Gen 2:23-24…..23 The man said, “This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called ‘woman,’ for she was taken out of man.” 24 For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh. NIV
Update 11:50 p.m….The little kitten did not make it. He died about 9:30 tonight.
I went to Brandon & Rachael’s old apartment tonight to help them move some more things. We only have a little bit left to move now. At the new apartment, we got a lot of things put away and furniture arranged. It’s starting to feel like somebody actually lives there.
They won’t have any internet till Friday next week. That’s the soonest Comcast could get over to the new place and install their cable.
Their new kitchen is larger than the old, but they still did not have enough storage space, or countertop space. And this kitchen did not have a place for their microwave. So I bought them a rolling work station at Home Depot. It looks really nice, and had room to put the microwave, 2 toaster ovens, and several other appliances. They also had almost no drawer space, so this added 2 drawers for their silverware. I couldn’t find a picture of the one I got, but it is just like this one, but theirs is double-wide.
Well….guess what we are doing again? A few days ago, Rachael told us about 3 little kittens that didn’t have a mother. One of the girls she works with, Michelle, is supposed to be a wildlife rehabilitator. So a woman found these 3 kittens in a drain pipe, and couldn’t fine the mom, so she brought them to Michelle. Well, Rachael said that a large number of animals Michelle takes in die. She took these kittens and 2 of them have already died. Rachael called today and asked if we would take the last kitten and see if we could get it to live. We have the mamma cat that’s still nursing kittens. She might accept it. But if she doesn’t, we are bottle feeding it.
When the lady found the kittens, they still had their umbilical cords attached. This one is probably less than a week old now.
