10:30 p.m….I’m so glad fall is finally in the air outside. It’s in the low 60’s out there right now. The highs are still in the high 80’s, but this is Texas. It’s still so much better than 2 months ago. It’s finally comfortable.

5:30 p.m….I worked outside for a little while and managed to slice my finger open. So I decided that coming inside to cook supper and hang up clothes out of the dryer was safer.

This is an interesting story.

We found out today that Bethany HAS to work on Thanksgiving. They had denied her request to take off, but she was just going to tell them she would be out of town that holiday. Today her manager told her they require everybody to work on Thanksgiving and the day after, because they are so busy. I can understand working Friday….that’s the first huge shopping day for Christmas. But I can’t believe they really have that many people shopping on Thanksgiving.

The same thing happened when my nephew, Adam, worked at Target. His parents were planning a trip to Boulder, CO for Thanksgiving, and Target told him that if he didn’t show up on Thanksgiving, he would be fired. So he quit.

Our plan was to drive up to Montgomery County, to my sister, Tammy’s house. It’s about 1-1/2 hours away. But now we are planning on switching and having Thanksgiving at Laurie’s which is only 30 minutes away. Beth can drive down after work. Our house and Heather’s house are still under construction, so we can’t really have anything at our houses right now. Our house is down by one bathroom right now. It’s been completely gutted so we are replacing everything. It had some damage from a water leak.

Rachael came by yesterday afternoon to bring some food for her animals. She could not take the animals to their apartment. She, Beth and I talked a lot about things most young women don’t include Mom in. I enjoyed it very much.

Steve said the prayer did work yesterday….he started feeling some better a little while after he called me. He’s still not feeling good, but it’s better than it was. He’s working today (he’s normally off on Friday), so the next paycheck will look really good. Which is wonderful, because we have some extra expenses coming up. God always provides. He doesn’t just pour the money out from Heaven, but He does usually provide overtime when we have extra needs.

  1. Cindy,
Usually when Walmart has every one work on Thanksgiving it’s usually for only 4 hours. No matter which way you look at it it stinks!
The Target I’m working for says they’re closed on Thanksgiving, thank God.
    God bless you.
    Cynthia :heartbeat:

  2. That’s great. I wish Walmart was. Once before, a man that worked at another Walmart told us they were closed only 2 days a year….Easter and Christmas. That would be nice if she only had to work 4 hours.

  3. Good to hear you were able to get Thanksgiving worked out.  :whew:  So glad Steve is feeling better. You all have a very blessed weekend….even though I’ll probably be touch over it.  🙂
