Miracles never cease….

Updated at the bottom….

We must realize that no arsenal, no weapon in the arsenals of the world, is so formidable as the will and moral courage of free men and women. It is a weapon our adversaries in today’s world do not have.”

— President Ronald Reagan

I think I need a 12 step program to stop having weird dreams about a particular airman stationed in the D.C. area    I’m trying, but it isn’t working

Remember the kitten we rescued from the wall? The kitten that wandered out of the garage after Mamma Kitty brought them down from the attic? The 7th kitten that just disappeared out of the utility room over a week ago?

She’s baa-aack!

Steve went outside tonight, and Mamma Kitty was lying under my car, with kitten #7 sitting on her. I think she had gotten that kitten out of the room, and took it somewhere else, because I looked for that kitten endlessly. I even looked under the log pile where she had tried to put them. No luck. Tonight (Thursday night) I think she deliberately brought it back.

When Steve walked outside, it scared the kitten, and it ran under the workbench in the garage. I brought out cans of cat food to lure it out. That didn’t work, although Mamma Kitty ate well  She kept looking in the back of the garage, because we kept hearing noises in there. She meowed, and the kitten came out from where it was hiding. I looked and the kitten was sitting by the door to the utility room.

She led me to that kitten. She walked over there, looking back to make sure I was there. Then, when I was trying to catch the kitten, instead of hissing at me like she always does, she hopped up on the air compressor and just watched me. She wanted me to catch that kitten. I finally got it (which wasn’t easy because it was scared) and put it back in the utility room. It bit my thumb pretty bad, but it’s a small price to pay for making that kitten safe again.

Mamma hopped in the utility room, and got comfortable. She was happy with all her babies together.

That kitten has had more prayers said for it than any animal alive. Since it disappeared, I’ve been praying every time I think of the kitten…which was many times every day. A couple of nights ago, I couldn’t sleep, so I just kept praying, asking God to keep that kitten safe and make sure it had plenty to eat. And to bring it back if it were possible.

He did.

1 Thess 5:16-22……16 Always be joyful. 17 Keep on praying. 18 No matter what happens, always be thankful, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.

19 Do not stifle the Holy Spirit. 20 Do not scoff at prophecies, 21 but test everything that is said. Hold on to what is good. 22 Keep away from every kind of evil.  NLT

California Marriage Law: 4,618,673 to Four

After a brief period of judicial restraint, California voters watched in horror this afternoon as judicial activism returned with a vengeance in one of the most egregious rulings in American jurisprudence. It took just four activist judges to overturn the historical definition of marriage, not to mention the vote of more than four and a half million Californians, as the state supreme court issued a much-anticipated ruling on the question of same-sex “marriage.” By a 4-3 margin, the justices struck down a law, adopted by 61 percent of voters in 2000, which defined marriage as the union of one man and one woman. By imposing same-sex “marriage” on voters, the California Supreme Court knowingly usurped the right of the people to effect change in public policy. This outcome is even more troubling than Massachusetts’, in that California voters had already won the right to put a marriage protection amendment on the ballot in November. If the court cared at all about the democratic process, it would have stayed its decision until the people’s voice was heard on the November amendment. Instead, these justices trampled on the legislature and created same-sex marriage by judicial fiat. This is nothing more than a judicial shotgun wedding that forces a redefinition of marriage on the people of California and potentially the rest of the nation. We trust that the voters of California will act in November to correct this exercise in judicial activism and to permanently enshrine the traditional definition of marriage in the state constitution. Clearly, this decision highlights the need for a federal amendment defining marriage in the U.S. Constitution. Only then will this campaign to shatter the family’s foundation be ended once and for all.

It’s the End of the World As We Know It?

Do your part to help the environment… die! That’s the opinion of a new organization called the Voluntary Human Extinction Movement, which is recruiting people to remain childless for “the benefit of the Earth.” As we learned at FRC’s policy lecture yesterday, the world may be unknowingly cooperating with this radical outgrowth of the global warming frenzy. According to the policy panel, which consisted of experts Pat Fagan, Ph.D., Allan Carlson, Ph.D., and John Mueller, Ph.D., our planet has already plunged into a “demographic winter” with birth rates falling well below replacement levels in some countries. While this can be blamed on several factors ranging from the sexual revolution to delayed childbearing, we can’t overlook the impact that the global warming debate has had on society’s opinion of the family. The green crowd continues to twist the so-called “climate crisis” into an excuse to push population control. As a result, children are being viewed by some not as blessings but burdens who consume precious natural resources. I’ll be talking about the danger this movement poses to the traditional family on Thursday at the National Press Club as leaders from a variety of communities launch the “We Get It” campaign to show our support for biblically-based solutions to conservation and the environment. In the meantime, I encourage you to log on to http://www.frc.org to see a webcast of yesterday’s insightful panel.

We Get It! Al Gore Doesn’t

You can be green without being gullible! That was part of the message I delivered this morning at the National Press Club, as leaders like Sen. James Inhofe (R-Okla.), Dr. Calvin Beisner, Bishop Harry Jackson and others gathered to address the growing global warming hype. Together we launched a new initiative, “We Get It!” with the goal of collecting more than one million signatures of people who are united behind a biblical perspective of the planet. As the former vice chairman of the Environmental Committee during my time in the Louisiana state legislature, I authored a number of pro-environment pieces of legislation. However, making stewardship a priority does not mean that we should surrender our national autonomy and sacrifice family incomes to fight environmental threats that are speculative at best. Improving the environment shouldn’t mean impoverishing families. FRC supports the “We Get It!” campaign and invite you to join us in promoting a scriptural view of conservation. Bishop Jackson and I write about this issue in our book Personal Faith Public Policy. For more information, log on to www.frc.org.

Senate liberals threaten federal harassment of Christians
May 14, 2008 | Refer a Friend

FRC and pro-family Americans face a grave and immediate challenge-and we need your help now to defend our faith, families, and freedom.

Led by Senator Ted Kennedy (D-MA), Senate liberals are poised to renew their push for passage of a bill that will turn the federal government into a weapon to beat churches and employers into accepting homosexual behavior as normal-even good.

Under the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA), the government will no longer be a neutral observer. Instead, it will become a tool that homosexual activists will use-at taxpayer expense-to torment employers and co-workers who object to their lifestyle.

Please act now! Ted Kennedy and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) could bring up ENDA for a Senate vote soon!

If ENDA becomes law, the victims of its government-sponsored harassment churches, religious schools, and private employers-will have to choose . .

. . . either abandon their religious convictions or face financial ruin defending themselves.

Some states already are tormenting private employers on behalf of homosexuals!

New Mexico authorities fined a wedding photographer nearly $7,000 because she remained faithful to her Christian values rather than photograph a lesbian’s “commitment ceremony!”

Kodak fired a loyal 21-year employee who objected to pro-homosexual indoctrination and refused to attend “diversity” re-education.

Sandia National Laboratories forced Christian workers to remove Bible verses and photos of their traditional families so that homosexual employees wouldn’t be offended.

ENDA would create a federal version of these policies-and a national nightmare that would force people of faith to abandon their values . . . or face harsh discipline!

Your support for FRC now will help our respected, influential experts expose the dangers of such legislation on Capitol Hill. ENDA has been stopped before. It must be stopped now.

Please contribute now to help FRC fight ENDA!

Good News: Adult Stem Cells Save Athlete from Amputation

In March, Andre Lampkin, 20, was facing the amputation of his legs and arms. But an experimental treatment using his own stem cells to stimulate tissue growth is giving the former wide receiver hope after meningitis damaged his limbs.

The Star-Telegram of Fort Worth, Texas, reported that two weeks after treatment, the soles of his feet and palms of his hands are softening, his circulation has improved and his right foot is moving.

Dr. Zannos Grekos conducted the experimental treatment in the Dominican Republic because it is not approved in the U.S.

“It looks like we have already saved his legs and arms,” Grekos told the Star-Telegram. “Now we’re hoping to save most of each foot and his hands.”

Grekos also has used adult stem cells to treat patients for cardiovascular, lung and kidney problems.

Gay-Activist Group Launches ‘Faith-Based’ Training

Nationwide clergy initiative focuses on ‘transgender’ education.

The Human Rights Campaign (HRC), the nation’s leading gay-activist organization, is offering to “train” pastors as part of Clergy Call 2009.

The nationwide trainings will target “transgender” education in 40 communities, according to HRC. And clergy will be urged to push the homosexual agenda in public policy discussions.

Dr. Michael Brown, director of the Coalition of Conscience, said messing with biblical principles is very dangerous.

“The values it sets forth in terms of male-female relationships (and) God’s order have eternal implications,” he said.

Brown said the church needs to bring the Gospel message of hope to the homosexual community.

Europe Sees Further Collapse of the Family

One marriage breaks up and one abortion occurs nearly every 30 seconds in Europe, according to a report by the Institute for Family Policy.

The Evolution of the Family in Europe 2008, based on research from the 27 European Union countries, described the birthrate as “critical,” with almost 1 million fewer babies born last year than in 1980. One in five pregnancies ends in abortion, and two out of three households have no children. In addition, the marriage rate fell by 24 percent between 1980 and 2006.

Jenny Tyree, associate marriage analyst for Focus on the Family Action, said Europe’s future hangs in the balance.

“Children are a nation’s hope for tomorrow,” she said. “Abortion, coupled with fewer births and a high divorce rate, spells social disaster. Hopefully, this report will awaken European nations to the value of marriage and children, so these trends can be reversed.”

Life Preserver Vindicated by Coast Guard

Members of our military should never have to choose between honoring their country and honoring their faith, argued ADF attorneys in the case of Coast Guard officer Joseph Healy. As a Catholic, Healy objected to a mandatory Hepatitis vaccination because it was derived from the cells of an aborted fetus. When he asked his superiors for a religious exemption from the shots back in January, Healy was denied. At the time, Coast Guard officials claimed that the Catholic teaching didn’t specify that the immunizations violated church doctrine. Faced with disciplinary action, including proceedings under the Uniform Code of Military Justice, Healy sought help from the ADF. After Healy filed suit, the Coast Guard reconsidered their position and granted him the religious exemption he sought. We applaud the military for recognizing that Healy is deserving of the same freedoms that he has spent his career defending.

Canada Pushes the Envelope with Mail Censorship

In Canada, the government is having a similar debate over free speech after EGALE (Equality for Gays and Lesbians Everywhere) started lobbying the country to censor mail that may be “homophobic.” In a letter to the president and CEO of Canada Post, EGALE implies that the postal system is helping to spread a message of hate by delivering materials that may be anti-homosexual. However, even past members of the organization are coming forward to say that EGALE is overstepping its bounds by asking the government to enter an unprecedented era of postal censorship. Gilles Marchildon, a former executive director, says, “… I’m personally not comfortable with [the idea]… The danger, of course, is that once you advocate in favor of curbing freedom of expression, where does it stop and who’s going to decide where the line gets drawn?” It would also constitute an incredible invasion of privacy by a government agency. If Canadians empower the government to screen their mail, they have surrendered their most fundamental liberty. Yet this is how far the “thought police” are willing to go to suppress the opinions of anyone who opposes the homosexual lifestyle.

  1. @Jess_uh_kuh – 😆 I think I’ve still got that book. I use to read it to the kids all the time. It was one of their favorites. When Brandon was little, Target would put the Little Golden Books on sale for 25 cents, and I would buy a bunch. I’m saving them for the grandkids.

  2. You ought to name her Hope or Lucky =) I told Dr Rodick about the one kitten that looks like a Pomeranian puppy mixed w/ a side of kitten lol. Speaking of prayer these last few days have been pretty tough/busy/crazy and the animals haven’t always been the easiest to handle either. Let’s just say in the 8 yrs I’ve been doing this I’ve only gotten hurt maybe 2 times really bad and this just this week I think I’ve been nipped atleast once or twice every day and it’s not cool. Today is also going to be another crazy/busy day and to start it off we have an EXTREMELY aggressive german shepard coming in at 9am when I arrive that should be on a sedative to help take the edge off and I’m NOT looking forward to it. We have to try and get exam, vaccines among other prelims from it heh. Pray for me! Well I’m off to go help the area of Pasadena w/ their pets, lol =)

  3. PTL.  God is so good.  My sister has new kittens too and one of them got under the house and was afraid to come out.  She kept trying to no avail.  I suggested she call the Fire Dept. and they came out and saved the kitten.  Another answer to prayer!  Many blessings, Jill

  4. @sweetheart011982 – I wanted to call you and tell you last night, but it was late and I was afraid I’d wake you up. This kitten has a brown patch over her right eye, so it looks like she’s wearing an eye patch. So last night I was thinking “Patch” was a good name. The other calico needs to be Rolly. We could name it Pomeranian, but that’s kinda long 😆
