Read Steve’s post.
Tonight is “clean out the freezer night” for dinner.
(The archives, Gracie? But thanks for going back to them, because I found this post, that cracked me up. I had forgotten about it: Dogs I remember that dream.)
The service went well today. The first musical special was Beth singing There She Stands. It was hard for her to sing today because she was in a lot of pain. The medication that was causing her stomach problems is also the medication that was keeping the swelling down. And when her foot swells, the pain is bad.
Then we sang God Bless the USA. Laura was there today (she’s our pastor’s oldest daughter), so I asked her if she wanted to sing with us. That’s the first time the 3 of us have sung together in about 3 years. We use to do it all the time.
Then Andy played a special. He did a medley of the service hymns for all 5 branches of our military, beginning with the Air Force Hymn. Beth said she could hear, “Stop, Air Force, Stop!” Not many will understand that. It’s ok. Ethan will He ended that medley with The Star Spangled Banner. It was really good.
Read Doug’s post. This is just another example of this scripture:
2 Tim 4:2-4….. 3 For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. 4 They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths. NIV
(The Cooperative Baptist Fellowship is the liberal arm of the Southern Baptist Church. We are Southern Baptist, but we are most definitely conservative. And I might add, lots of people do not understand why Southern Baptists have been fighting for years. This article shows why. The Cooperative Baptist Fellowship is a group born out of the conflict between those who insist the Bible is right and those who have decided to change it to fit their own agenda. Many years ago, those liberal Baptists – who are referred to as “moderate,” started slowly teaching things that contradict scripture. They began teaching things like there was really no virgin birth. Now they seem to have slid nearly all the way down that slippery slope. They haven’t realized that Hell is at the bottom of that slope.)
