“What’s the difference between a hockey mom and a pit bull? Lipstick!”

…..Gov. Sarah Palin in her acceptance speech September 3, 2008

I absolutely loved her speech.

Waving flag

Eventhough we are the ones who vote, God puts our presidents in place, just as He put kings in their places in the Bible. He gives us the rulers He wants us to have at the right time. But something we don’t always think about is He might give us a ruler who is not a good one. If He does, it will be to teach us something we need to learn.

So….if we don’t vote for Godly leaders, He might just give us what we deserve. That’s a scary thought.

Prov 8:15-16…..15 By me kings reign and rulers make laws that are just; 16 by me princes govern, and all nobles who rule on earth.  NIV

Dan 2:20-22…..Praise be to the name of God for ever and ever; wisdom and power are his. 21 He changes times and seasons; he sets up kings and deposes them. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the discerning.
22 He reveals deep and hidden things; he knows what lies in darkness, and light dwells with him. NIV

@mariqueenofscots – Hi, Mari  I already was for her because I had been studying about her and what she had done. And I already knew who she was when she was announced. But she really showed her “fightin’ side” tonight, and I hope she won over those who were skeptical. I can’t wait to see her take on Biden in a debate!! 😆  And of course, when she talked about McCain’s stay in the Hanoi Hilton, it brought tears to my eyes. I have wondered how many night terrors he has had since then. And it is a fear of mine, having loved ones who go in and out of the big sandbox. I have not agreed with everything McCain has said, but I really like the idea of a president in war time who knows what it is like to be there, and knows what suffering is like.

  3. Yeah, that joke?  I heard it was sopranoes!  😆
I pray that conservatives will go out and vote for McCain.  Palin is a fabulous choice.  If he had gone with Lieberman, we would have Obama next January.
Some of the commentators I’ve heard say that McCain will reshape the Republican Party into what he is – which is much more moderate and less conservative.  Maybe he had a “come to Jesus” meeting with somebody who told him he needs his conservative base.
Thank you for the reminder: If McCain is God’s choice for the country, there must be a reason.
